Mumbai: The investigation into the attack on Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan is becoming increasingly complicated, with new developments surfacing each day. The police had already recorded the statement of Saif’s wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and recently, they took Saif’s statement as well. However, discrepancies between their accounts have now come to light.

Conflicting Statements Raise Questions

Saif Ali Khan reportedly provided two different accounts regarding the night of the attack. According to his statement, he was on the 11th floor of his residence when the incident occurred. He stated that he and Kareena rushed together to their son, Jeh (Jahangir)’s room after hearing their son’s nanny, Elamma, scream on the night of January 15.

However, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s statement contradicted this. She told the police that Saif had gone to Jeh’s room alone, and she arrived at the scene later. These inconsistencies have raised suspicions and added complexity to the case.

Forensic Investigation Underway

The primary accused, Sharul, will remain in police custody until January 29 as investigations continue. The authorities have also decided to conduct a forensic test on the attacker to establish further evidence.

The police have requested facial recognition analysis of the accused, stating that it is a crucial step in verifying his identity. Additionally, the shoes worn by the attacker at the time of the incident have not yet been recovered, and an effort is being made to match the shoe size as part of the investigation.

Meanwhile, the accused’s lawyer, Sandeep, has questioned why Saif Ali Khan’s family delayed taking appropriate action following the attack. The defense argued that the prolonged delay suggests that the attack may not have been as serious as it is now being portrayed.
