Yes, this story has been shared by Abhishek Bachchan himself. In an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Abhishek Bachchan revealed all about his first meet with Aishwarya Rai. It took place in Switzerland. Abhishek Bachchan was a production boy before he turned actor. So while he was doing recce for his father’s venture Mrityudata, Aishwarya Rai was shooting with Bobby Deol for his debut movie Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya in Switzerland. All of them being in Switzerland, Bobby Deol introduced Abhishek to Aishwarya Rai. Bobby Deol called him up for dinner and that’s when Jr Bachchan met Aishwarya for the first time.

He also further recalled how Aishwarya could not understand much due to his heavy accent. Being abroad in a boarding school, Abhishek Bachchan initially had a thick accent. So remembering the same, Jr Bachchan said that Aishwarya still jokes about it. “And whenever she talks about it, she jokingly says, ‘I couldn’t understand a word of what you were saying’. Because here I was, a kid from an international boarding school, then went to Boston. I must’ve had some really heavy accent at that point. And she was like, ‘What were you saying?” he quoted as per entertainment news sites.
