Saif Ali Khan’s Patodi Palace: A Glimpse into the Legacy of a Royal Mansion Worth ₹800 Crore

Saif Ali Khan’s heritage home, the Patodi Palace, is a symbol of grandeur and royal lineage, far surpassing the lavish residences of even Bollywood’s biggest stars. The palace, located in Haryana’s Patodi, is not just a residence but a piece of history, steeped in over 200 years of royal legacy.

Spanning an area of 10 acres, the Patodi Palace boasts an impressive 150 rooms, including seven dressing rooms, seven billiards rooms, multiple bedrooms, drawing rooms, and dining rooms. The mansion’s interiors are as beautiful as its exterior, with unique antique features that make it a one-of-a-kind property. The palace is also a popular filming location, having hosted several Bollywood films and TV shows, including Mangal Pandey, Veer-Zaara, Gandhi Taal and Animal.

The palace was originally built in 1935 by the eighth Nawab, Ikhtiar Ali Hussain Siddiqui, and later renovated by his son, Mansoor Ali Khan, the ninth Nawab of Patodi, with the help of foreign architects. Saif spent much of his childhood in this palace, and despite his father Mansoor Ali Khan’s passing, Saif’s connection to the palace remained strong.

After his father’s death, the palace was leased to Neemrana Hotels and transformed into a hotel. However, Saif always desired to bring the palace back into the family fold. In an ambitious move, Saif used his earnings from films to reclaim the palace, paying a significant sum to cancel the lease and make the palace his own once again. The cost of this acquisition is estimated to be over ₹100 crore, though the exact amount remains undisclosed.

Today, Patodi Palace holds sentimental value for Saif, as it houses the graves of his father, grandfather, and grandmother. This connection to his ancestors makes the palace not just a residence but a deeply personal space for Saif and his family. Saif frequently visits the palace with his wife, Kareena Kapoor, and their children, considering it a second home.

This royal mansion is not just a testament to Saif’s royal heritage but also a symbol of his enduring love for his family and the history that has shaped him. With its majestic architecture, rich history, and personal significance, Patodi Palace is truly a jewel in Saif Ali Khan’s legacy.
