She captioned the clip, expressing hope for safety in the midst of the crisis: “My thoughts are with everyone affected. Hope we are all able to be safe tonight.”
Chopra also shared a photo of a helicopter with first responders working tirelessly to combat the blaze. She expressed her gratitude to those on the front lines, writing, “A huge shout out to the incredibly brave first responders. According to Los Angeles Times, five people are reported to be dead and 1,100 structures got destroyed. The wildfires not only affected homes but also disrupted the entertainment industry. Several major Hollywood events were cancelled or rescheduled due to the disaster. The Critics Choice Awards, which celebrates the best in film and television, was postponed to January 26. Anderson’s premiere for The Last Showgirl was cancelled, as was a red-carpet screening of Better Man by Paramount. Netflix also cancelled a press conference for its Golden Globe-winning series Emilia Perez. Additionally, filming for popular Los Angeles-based shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Hacks, and Jimmy Kimmel Live was paused. Universal Studios theme park also closed for the day due to the severe fire conditions and strong winds.
