Shah Rukh Khan won the best actor’s (male) award for Jawan at the IIFA 2024 awards, while fellow Bollywood star Rani Mukerji bagged the same in female’s category for her outstanding performance in the movie Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway (2023). The movie based on a true story features Rani Mukerji as the resilient Mrs Chatterjee, who was caught in a harrowing legal battle with the Norwegian authorities over the custody of her child. In her acceptance speech, the Bollywood star thanked the film fraternity and remarked that the Ashima Chibber-directed flick is one of the most special films in her career that reaffirmed the power of storytelling and the universal language of maternal love. Onstage of the award show, Rani was joined by Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar, sending the audience and netizens in a frenzy. Nothing short of nostalgia! Meanwhile, the gentleman that he is, Shah Rukh Khan’ sweet gesture helping Rani Mukerji with her saree onstage swooned the audience and netizens alike.
