Salman Khan and Sangeeta Bijlani’s romance is among the most talked about love stories in Bollywood. However, there is something about the relationship that Sangeeta would like to change. In a new video from her appearance on Indian Idol 15, she mentioned that Salman didn’t allow her to wear short clothes.

When a contestant asked Sangeeta if she would like to change something in her career, she said, “Jo the na (mimics Salman) humare ex, I was very constricted. Matlab kapde yeh nahi pehanna, itne short nahi hone chahiye. Itna long hona chahiye, voh gale main… I could not wear this kind of dress. Initially, I did but then I was not allowed to. So I was shy then, abhi main aisi nahi hoon. Abhi poori gundi hoon. I’m not afraid now, I was reserved then.”

Although Sangeeta did not take Salman’s name, it was evident to fans that she was talking about the actor. Additionally, Vishal Dadlani also mimicked Salman’s way of speaking when he prodded Sangeeta to mention the actor’s name. However, Sangeeta politely declined to take Salman’s name.

Salman and Sangeeta’s relationship dates back to the early days of their careers. The two met during the shooting of a TV advertisement and quickly became one of Bollywood’s most adored couples. Their romance, which lasted nearly a decade, was one of Salman’s longest relationships and seemed destined for a fairytale ending.

The couple had reportedly made plans to tie the knot. However, their relationship hit a roadblock, and the wedding was ultimately called off. Despite parting ways romantically, Salman and Sangeeta managed to maintain a cordial and respectful bond.

Following their breakup, Sangeeta moved on and married cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin in 1996. The couple, however, finalized their divorce in 2019 after over two decades of marriage. Throughout the years, Sangeeta and Salman remained in touch, with Sangeeta frequently attending Salman’s events and parties, showcasing their enduring friendship.

In a previous interview, Sangeeta shared her thoughts on her relationship with Salman and how they’ve managed to stay connected. “Connections don’t break,” she told a leading daily. Elaborating further, she added, “Connections never go away. The love between your partners, school friends never goes away. People will come and go. Nobody will be permanent in life. That does not mean you feel bitter or angry. At one point you evolve. There was a point in time of my life where I was childish and stupid, but I am a grown-up now. Life is full of experiences.”
