The newly born two-headed calf unfortunately passed away and was taken by the temple to be soaked in wine

The two-headed calf was soaked in wine by the temple.

Regarding the “stirring up of worshipping a two-headed calf” at a pagoda in Vinh Hai commune (Vinh Chau town, Soc Trang province), today the pagoda soaked this calf in alcohol.

On the afternoon of May 13, Mr. Tran Van Thanh – Chairman of Vinh Hai Commune People’s Committee (Vinh Chau town, Soc Trang) said that the commune had coordinated with units to persuade TS pagoda to bury or burn the two-headed calf, but the pagoda still did not change its mind.

Thanks to officials at all levels and sectors continuously explaining and propagating to people that it is normal for a cow to give birth to a two-headed calf, people no longer gather at TS pagoda to worship the two-headed calf.

“The working group persuaded the temple to bury the calf, but the abbot did not agree. The temple placed the calf in a glass cage and soaked it in alcohol for the purpose of letting people visit,” Mr. Thanh said.
The two-headed calf in Soc Trang is being sun-dried.

As Dan Tri reported, on May 8, the mother cow of Mr. LSL’s family (49 years old, living in Tra Set hamlet, Vinh Hai commune, Vinh Chau town, Soc Trang province) gave birth to a calf with two heads.

This calf had 2 heads, 2 necks, 2 spines on a body with 4 legs, 1 tail. However, the calf died on the night of May 8.

Instead of handling it at home, Mr. L. called the abbot of TS Pagoda and the abbot asked his family to bring the calf to the pagoda. There, the pagoda placed a charity box, around the calf’s body, there were 4 candles and an incense bowl.

On the morning of May 9, the temple cut open the calf’s belly, removed all the organs, marinated it with medicine, and dried it in the sun.

On May 10, the temple continued to dry the two-headed calf. Every day, many people came to see, burn incense and worship the two-headed calf.
