Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, have been married since before the former became a comedic superstar and delivered a string of comedic hits in the ’90s. The two are said to have met via family members not long after the Raja Babu actor completed his graduation. Sunita was initially told about Govinda by her sister’s husband, who happened to be related to him. She was told that the actor barely ever spoke to women.

However, what shocked her was the fact that she was even told that he’d been aggressive with two girls during his college days.

Sunita Ahuja and Govinda have been married for over three decades now. During the former’s appearance on the show Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai in the early 2000s, she shared a ton of details about her relationship with the Bhagam Bhag star. While she mentioned she first heard about Govinda through her Jeeja Ji (brother-in-law), she was even told that he has a violent history with women.

Talking about the same, Ahuja stated, “My brother-in-law said that he hits girls. He said you don’t talk to him. He said Govinda had actually hit two girls in his college. One of them, he hit with an umbrella. And the other girl, he threw hot milk on her face. So he doesn’t talk to girls at all.” However, these stories didn’t stop Sunita from wanting to speak to the Partner actor and she admitted that she asked her brother-in-law to contact him.

Sunita continued, “So I was wondering who is this boy who doesn’t talk to girls. I told my Jeeja Ji you call him, I will talk to him. That’s when I met him.” The rest, as they say, is history, for they ended up falling for each other and decided to tie the knot soon after. Ahuja, who was only 18 during the time of their marriage, revealed in an interview with Hauterrfly that her father decided not to attend the wedding as he didn’t approve of their bonding.
