“Honestly, the guest list was a big issue,” Abhishek said. “People keep bringing this up as if we intentionally excluded people. But they forget what was happening at that time. My grandmother was critically ill, and my father didn’t feel comfortable celebrating on a large scale while she was in the hospital. It didn’t feel right.”

Abhishek further clarified that it was not that they did not want to invite people. In fact, the Bachchans wanted to celebrate with everyone, but under the circumstances, they decided to keep the guest list limited.

“Did I want to invite everyone? Yes. Did my family want to invite everyone? Absolutely. But given the situation, we had to make a difficult choice,” he said. “We wanted everyone’s blessings, so we sent out wedding invitation cards to our close well-wishers, even if they couldn’t physically attend.”

“Kareena’s sangeet was quite small, with just a few close friends and family,” he recalled. “On the other hand, Abhishek’s sangeet was a crazy party! It was held at their Juhu residence, and all their closest friends were there. The energy was amazing, and everyone had a great time.”
