Shocking Revelation: Deepika Padukone Opens Up About Her Battle with Depression and Suicide Attempt
In a heart-wrenching revelation, Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone has bravely shared her struggles with depression, including a time when she felt so overwhelmed that she contemplated ending her life.

For a long time, Deepika kept her feelings bottled up, living alone in Mumbai. The isolation compounded her struggles, making it difficult for her to reach out for help. It wasn’t until her mother visited her in Mumbai that she finally broke down.
“When my mother came to see me, I just felt helpless and hopeless. I told her, ‘I donât want to live,'” Deepika recalled, her voice filled with emotion. Thankfully, her mother recognized the signs of her distress and encouraged her to seek professional help.
In a country where mental health issues often carry a stigma, Deepika’s decision to speak out is both courageous and necessary. “In our country, mental health carries a stigma, making it difficult to talk about,” she noted.
However, she found that as soon as she began to open up about her struggles, she felt a sense of relief. “Talking about it truly eases the burden,” she said, highlighting the importance of communication in the healing process.
Deepika’s journey towards recovery has been a testament to the power of seeking help and the importance of mental health awareness. She has become an advocate for mental health, encouraging others to speak out and seek support.
“Anxiety, stress, and depression can affect anyone, regardless of their success or status,” she emphasized, urging society to break the silence surrounding mental health issues.
Recently, Deepika was spotted at Mumbai airport with her husband, actor Ranveer Singh, and their daughter, as they prepared to celebrate her 39th birthday in the Maldives.
The couple made a conscious effort to shield their daughter from the paparazzi, demonstrating their commitment to family privacy amidst the chaos of fame. This trip serves as a reminder of the importance of taking time for oneself and cherishing moments with loved ones.
