Currently hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 (KBC 16), Amitabh Bachchan shared a personal story during one of the latest episodes. In conversation with contestant Kriti, Bachchan discussed his family and reflected on what he thinks about Sikhs.

While speaking about his parents’ marriage, Amitabh said, “It feels a bit strange to use the term inter-caste. My father was from Uttar Pradesh, and my mother was from a Sikh family. I believe I am half Sardar (Sikh). When I was born, my mother would say, ‘What a golden boy—our Amitabh Singh.’” He smiled as he added that he feels proud of his mixed heritage, saying, “I take pride in being half Sardar.”
