Bollywood actor and model Poonam Pandey died of cervical cancer on February 1, according to a statement shared by her manager on her official Instagram handle. Many celebrities, including Kangana Ranaut, Munawar Faruqui, Daisy Shah and Pooja Bhatt have mourned her death. Poonam Pandey’s manager, Parul Chawla, spoke to IndiaToday.in and said that the actor was diagnosed with the last stage of cervical cancer sometime back.

‘Bigg Boss 17’ winner Munawar Faruqui, who was Poonam Pandey’s co-contestant on ‘Lock Upp’, mourned the actor’s death on X. He wrote, “Shocking! can’t process the news. Poonam was great human being. Sad. RIP (sic).”

Actor Daisy Shah also took to social media to pay her last respect to Poonam Pandey. “Shocked and saddened by the news of Poonam Pandey’s demise. May her soul find tranquility, and may her loved ones find strength🙏🏼 Gone too soon #PoonamPandey #RestInPeace.(sic).”

Pooja Bhatt mourned Pandey’s death on X and wrote, “So tragic to hear about #PoonamPandey I had never met her but when life claims someone so young it is always devastating. My prayers & deepest condolences to her family,friends & everyone whose life she impacted (sic).”

Rakhi Sawant shared a video in which she was heard saying, “She was a good friend of mine. We spoke a few days ago. I cannot really believe this. I don’t even have the courage to Whatsapp her. She had such big dreams. She never shared that she had cervical cancer. If I had known about her, I would have prayed for her.”

Actor Helly Shah spoke to the paparazzi about the news and said, “This is such sad news to start your day with. Please get your cervical cancer vaccine ASAP. We should be more aware about this disease. I just hope that her soul rests in peace.”

Meanwhile, Saisha Shinde shared with IndiaToday.in, “I’m aware of the news, but I don’t want to believe it. I won’t believe it. She can’t leave like this.”
